While we understand that children need a break from the structure of a rigorous school schedule, we believe that learning does not need to take a summer vacation. Our daily morning specials and field trips are planned with learning in mind and keeping learning fun. Our programs are flexible and children are not pressured.

Our summer program accommodates children ages 18 months through 11 years of age. Below is a description of some of the activities your child will enjoy. Please keep in mind that all off-site trips have been thoroughly investigated and visited to ensure the safety of all the children. Children registered in our toddler program will remain on the camp grounds. They participate in water play, arts and crafts, cooking, movement, and even karate.

We maintain a low child to staff ratio to ensure that your child is being supervised properly and safely. We only accommodate children from 18 months up to 10 years old, so that we can keep our program small and tailor it to the needs of younger children. Our camp program is inspected and permitted by the Town of Hempstead.

Trips
Every Wednesday, children will take a field trip. We visit places that are of interest to the children and are enjoyable. Places that we have visited in the past include The Long Island Children's Museum, New York Hall of Science, Vanderbilt Planetarium, Sands Point Reserve, to name a few.

Swimming/Water Play
On days when we do not go on a field trip, children enjoy a fun-filled afternoon at one of our local pools or parks with a spray pool. Here they can take some of their first steps towards learning how to swim. Kicking their feet in the water, floating, blowing bubbles or just cooling off on a hot summer day makes for a great afternoon. Parents also have the option to enroll their child in swimming lessons conducted by a local swimming school for a nominal fee. Those children who do not leave the camp grounds will enjoy a refreshing time in our sprinklers and water tables.

Arts and Crafts
Taught by one of our veteran staff members, we experiment with all kinds of mediums to provide hands-on arts and crafts experiences. We do not use packaged art projects. We mix our own paints, make play dough, and create our own works of art.

Cooking
Each week, the children enjoy a cooking class at camp, where they learn measuring and how to mix, shape and create their own special treat. Any allergies noted on a child's medical form are taken into account when planning the recipes.

Gymnastics and Movement
Every week, we visit a local gymnastic center, where children learn basic gymnastics taught by their professional staff. We also have a movement instructor who visits the camp once a week and performs stretching, relay races and games with each age group.

Karate
A certified Karate instructor visits the camp each week to give each group a Karate lesson. Yes, even our toddlers enjoy this. Children utilize their large muscle groups while learning coordination, self-discipline, self-confidence and respect in a fun atmosphere.
